Well.......
It's been a mixed week.
On the one hand, any job at the moment is a gift, especially one that is well paid (in my world - I still compare myself to the NHS salary I would be on and feel truly blessed). I have a great deal of autonomy. I'm well regarded by my clients and enjoy working with them. I get to travel widely in Asia.
On the other.....I have a terrible, energy sapping relationship with my boss such that I dread having to speak to him. My team is well meaning but passive, requiring huge efforts from me to get performance from them. I get overloaded with BAU, often have to travel, and feel unsupported in what I'm doing. And the core work is an odd mixture of stressful yet boring...
So what to do? I think the answer is - nothing until after Christmas. Can't let this be seen as back to work blues. But also I can't sign up for more of the same that will inevitably lead to burn out, stress and unhappiness.
Promise that future posts will play more to the VLP audience - MSS, line up those single Kiwi guys that you know, and I might also share a tale or two of midnight drives around HK.....

Have you considered working for an environmental organisation? Mind you, you wouldn't get to fly as much ;-)
Ah no Claire, VLP (TM) is the Vicarious Living Programme, a service provided by Poobah Inc to her married friends which details appalling dating experiences, wild nights out etc etc that probably go by the wayside when one settles down and has kids.
And not flying so much?? Yes please... Although it would mean less access to horny pilots which would obviously cramp my personal life somewhat!
Fly me to the moon, and let me play amongst the stars......
